Our European consultant recently boosted Black Label Experience’s superyacht opportunities by visiting Monaco Yacht Show 2017 and was pleased to see the continued participation of New Zealand marine and yachting exhibitors.
With the America’s Cup 2021 challenge set to be hosted in New Zealand, many Kiwi yachting companies came to Monaco for 4-days of networking, business deals and new product developments from 27th to 30th September to start the build up to the America’s Cup and further strengthen New Zealand’s nautical expertise in boat building, design, manufacturing, services and marine equipment.
NZ Marine companies at Monaco Yacht Show 2017
The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is an annual trade show in Monaco, exhibiting around 125 magnificent superyachts built by the world’s most recognised shipyards alongside 40 new builds in a worldwide debut. Monaco Yacht Show attracts over 590 exhibiting companies including shipyards, naval architects, designers, tech, tenders, watertoys, brokerages and media with over 34,000 visitors discovering the leading innovations and trends within the yachting industry.
New Zealand yachting companies have a good reputation globally and feedback from the show was promising for the yachting sector. Each year, the best of New Zealand’s marine services and products is showcased at ‘New Zealand Street’, an exhibitor zone at Darse Sud Extérieure opposite the famous La Rascasse bar with a special mention to the provision of fine New Zealand wines as well!
Some of the New Zealand yachting companies who were exhibiting at Monaco Yacht Show 2017 included:
- Asia Pacific Superyachts (Yachts Services – Yacht Management)
- Doyle Sailmakers (Equipment – Sailing equipment)
- Events Clothing (Equipments – Yachtwear)
- New Zealand Marine (Federations & Associates)
- Southern Spars (Equipment – Sailing equipment)
While many Kiwi businesses didn’t travel to Europe for the annual third-quarter slew of yacht trade shows including Cannes Yachting Festival, Genoa Boat Show, MYBA Pop-Up Superyacht Show at Porto Montenegro and MYS, valuable partnerships were still being made at the 2017 Auckland On Water Boat Show from 28th September to 1st October 2017 at Viaduct Harbour in Auckland whereby Black Label Experience’s premium marketing incorporates the yachting sector as a key part of high-end tourism.
